Dongfeng Zhao

Mr. Zhao Dongfeng is a board member of ICLA, Executive Director of International Construction Law Program of Peking University, expert of Expert Committee of China Association of International Engineering Consultants, Expert of China International Contractors Association, expert lecturer of China Society for World Trade Organization Studies and China Association for International Economic Cooperation, member of China Law Society and the managing partner of Beijing JustFaith Law firm.

Mr. Zhao graduated from Peking University Law School. Before practicing as a lawyer, Mr. Zhao worked in one of top Chinese leading international contractors listed ENR225 and specialised in contract management, legal management and survey management of several extra large-scale overseas projects and accumulated extensive experience in the management of overseas on-site project. Prior to his involvement with JustFaith Law firm, Mr. Zhao worked in PinsentMasons LLP and a partner in the alliance between PinsentMasons LLP and a local law firm. Mr. Zhao has provided professional legal service for hundreds of contentious and non- contentious matters. With regard to international construction arbitration and dispute settlement, Mr. Zhao has rich experience of ICC arbitration, UNCITRAL arbitration and Litigation in project host countries.

Mr. Zhao was invited by many famous universities to give lectures on international construction investment and financing and legal or contractual risks on international construction including but not limited to Peking University, Tsinghua University, and Tianjin University and was appointed by numerous training and consulting institutions of international construction and numerous international construction companies as the expert or expert lecturer.

As invited by China International Contractors Association, Mr. Zhao provided the feedback an opinion to FIDIC Contract Conditions (2017) Pre-Release Version; Mr. Zhao Dongfeng was also invited by King’s College to review the PPC Alliance Contracts and on invitation of the Going Through the Deal, he wrote the column of China construction law.
